Experimental Design

Spring 2023

About

For Experimental Studio, it widened the perspective on how other individuals with disabilities interact with everyday spaces and how there is a growing need for inclusive, Universal Design in today's design principles. Our design brief allowed for a choice of which specific groups we could provide a dedicated space that is meant to promote interactions, bring awareness, and educate on why there is a need to be more conscious of who uses the space and how.

In teams, my partner and I aimed to provide an educational facility, specifically for children who were deaf and hard of hearing. The design creates an environment for young children that inspires their curiosity about the natural world by targeting other vital senses such as sight and touch.

We integrate technological and biophilic solutions that create interactive experiences which promote play, engagement, and alternative methods to guide and aid them in establishing perceptions of the world.
